No More CPM on FB

I haven't had to swap out ads in a several months, but today I go to add some new ads and it looks like they've completely gotten rid of CPM bidding, made it impossible to use a tracking url and made the format more difficult to use then ever. What the fuck is going on with FB ads?
 


ok weird. This is what my account looks like:

But oddly enough, this was when I was copying an old ad. When I "Create New Ad" I get this:

When I try to use a tracking url, it changes it automatically to the end page. I think I can get around this with cloaking, but still annoying as fuck.
 
It says something about an option in an "objective" section being the reason for CPC or CPM in both screen shots.

My accounts still look the same as usual. That must be a limited test or slow roll out.

Yeh, I get it now, you can change this and it will change the type of bidding:

But it won't let you adjust the bid on it as far as I can tell. Not really a big deal, but definitely weird.
 
they're just testing new features

I don't use FB ads but a few weeks ago I had CPA optimized bidding enabled for a couple of days on my account then it went away. Some people also have expanded targeting options for intent etc...
 
why the fuck would they do this? I use prosper so I won't be able to run traffic through them anymore ( even though it's been months since I've ran shit on them it still pisses me off)

Yeh, I noticed on some of my other accounts it's still the normal setup.

A little creative cloaking and you can overcome this, but it's still annoying.

oops, was wrong about the cpm thing, but they still are fucking up their ads even more.

Fuckers seized a 100K fanpage today of mine too. Not my day with FB.
 
when I used the external link just now it wouldn't let me change the objective therefore making me stay with cpc.

So with these changes as far as having to cloak decrease competition all that much you think?

for me it is saying that 1.5m target is around 7-12c wondering if clicks will be cheaper now. . . .

No clue, but I know CPC is nearly always more expensive for the stuff I run, so it sucks if we can't use CPM for external pages. Just have to figure out a work around I guess if that's how their going to make us do it.
 
They're at it again with shit. If you target an external page then it automatically selects your objective as getting clicks and makes you bid CPC which is of course more expensive. Fucking annoying.

CPM traffic on facebook is cheaper but it's also terrible. You're probably better off bidding CPC anyway. I can still choose for external links though.
 
weird that you can still choose, it's limited on 3 accounts of mine...

I get way more volume significantly cheaper with CPM so this is going to hurt if it they keep me on CPC only.
