Ok, I seem to be bad at this...

So I have been trying my hand at AM now for about 2 months. I signed up for ppc-coach and now realize that was a total waste of my time. I am still going through the thirty day challenge so we'll see how that goes. But so far I have lost a good chunk of cash (approx 1k).

I had one single successful campaign and I can't honestly call it successful because when I tried to scale it from Yahoo I ended up breaking even rather than making a profit. So now on to the actual question.

I seem to be awful at PPC. So I think I need to re-evaluate. Would it be better for me to go the SEO route first and slowly migrate back to PPC? I would really like to reclaim some of that money I lost and SEO seems like such a slow way to do it. Then again if I keep trying PPC I may drop another grand. At this point I am feeling a bit lost. So any guidance would be appreciated.

Let the dickrolls begin!

My advice is to go the SEO route AND go the PPC route at the same time.

To do PPC, you need landing pages anyway, so why not build the sites (wp blogs) beforehand? I should also add that you should do it with the intent of ranking for "product name" and "product name review" + any other product-FOCUSED longtail keywords.

Once you have a niche site up reviewing every product in that market (and hopefully starting to rank) you can blast some PPC at it and at the very least do some article marketing.

Rinse and repeat.

You're looking at this the wrong way.

You had a successful campaign and tried a different source and barely broke even? That's frikken good. That means you're going to be recouping your "losses" while testing new adcopies/landers or whatever the hell you can test to bring your cpc down and your epc up.

Focus on one thing. Keep asking yourself why something doesn't work. Track the fucker, do w.e. you can.
