In MailChimp I've setup a new list. On the Signup "Thank You" Page form instead of using one of MailChimp's forms, I'm sending them to an external website, but it won't let me pass the email address they just signed up with to that page.
For example if I put in page.com?subid=*|EMAIL|* it says it's an invalid URI. If I remove the *'s the link is fine, but the *|EMAIL|* is the variable I should be passing. I emailed MailChimp support for some assistance and their response is, "Unfortunately while it may be possible to modify our forms to pass information to an external database in the way you are describing that is not something we are about to support with or troubleshoot as we are not trained programmers. For an advanced setup like that we leave it to our advanced users like yourself to venture into but it is possible."
