I know this has been covered over and over and over again, but I figured I would point out what I believe it to be, and then allow you all to rip it the fuck apart. Most of you know that I'm a SEO/SEM guy, not a PPC guy - so keep that in mind. Here it goes:

Basics. Find offer to promote, find keyword list, find landing page, plug together, profit.

Finding offer:

Make sure to look at EPC (see Smax's posts on his threads about this... he lists a lot of reasons, eventually later I'll add these on here).

Obviously this goes both ways - some people say "hey, go with ringtones its proven to be good or else people wouldn't be doing it all the time" or "dont do ringtones - it's too over saturated." Usually picking an offer is one of my hardest problems.

Find Keyword List:

WordTracker. WordZe. KeyCompete. Blah blah blah, I think this is probably the easiest methods if you have a little cash for a subscription.

freekeywords.wordtracker.com for me.

Find Landing Page:

Also self explanatory. See the S/B/T section for this. Usually I just find templates and mod the shit out of them, I'm not too bad on modifying but creating from scratch ... ouch.

Tracking:

I've heard nothing but good feedback about Tracking202/Prosper202. For when I get started (in about 2 weeks) this is what I'll be using to give it all a try. To compliment this I'll be making a custom tracking PHP script just to track a few additional things like paths if I use it on a multi-page site. If you got tips, let me have it!

This is really all I got right now, I'll be adding a little more later on but I'm open to any suggestions and/or tips. If this sounds too newbie, let me know and I'll put more details and/or specifics in it when I get to them.

By no means am I saying this is a "case study" because I would hate to label it that and then never update, so let's say I'll be "updating the thread" as I "progress in PPC" from a "newbieish perspective" - hows that?

PS - WERHEY WERHEY!
