The concept of making a page to presell one product seems like it would make your presell page sound like an informercial almost.

Then again, if I had any idea of what worked and what didn't, I wouldn't be posting in the newbie section.

What are some essential things that a single product presell page is supposed to have?

Probably have to be more specific; it's almost completely dependent on target market and audience.

Totally depends on what you're selling. Generally, things requiring a credit card for conversion need some presell. Some products are totally sold by the stories you tell around them, especially biz opps. Look at some of those landers, it's all about the backstory. Dude gets new life, money, success, wife, blah blah blah. Says practically nothing about the product itself.

Try reading Cashvertising by Drew Whitman. It's a great intro to the art of selling stuff to people.
