I’d like to have an idea on how much it costs to get a website up and running starting from scratch, I have clear which services I can offer, but I’m not very good with design and all that, how much would I need in total for a decent website? Thanks a lot in advance.

It would cost as much as a car. So do you want a blue Ford Pinto, or the Knight Rider Ford Mustang? Take a look at one of the best write ups I've seen about this common question from Newfangled.

There is also a pretty handy online calculator if you really need it, to pick and choose different elements and functionality for a newly developed site. I think I saw it on a freelance job posting site. Let me look for it and I'll post it here if I can find it quick enough.

The best designers usually run about 1500-3000 for the PSD's, coding for something simple would be about 300 on top of that. Something complex like e-commerce etc. would run at least a grand just for the coding, assuming you get someone legit to do it and don't outsource it to India.

Why wouldn’t I outsource it to India? Or Africa?, lol, just kidding. Thank you for your answers, I have a small idea now how much it would be, now I just have the easiest part left, the one about doing the actual website.
