I would assume to be very safe you should have a Landing page for each offer and promote the link where you deem appropriate.

I have marketed well with adwords, thats all i've done so far and have been pretty successful.

I would like to know what other ways are ok to promote?

My ideas to generate traffic
Yahoo answers
Forum sigs ( not wicked fire obviously)
Craigslist ( I would say not a good idea)
Myspace ( probably not a good idea either)
Aim and Yahoo messanger ( pose as a chick , flirt with some dude and make him do a zip code offer? lol jk on that one)

can anyone give feedback on what is alright?

Why would you not want to promote with craigslist and myspace? Of the 5 ways you mentioned here, three are easy to automate and you've discounted two of those.

I don't know if there's a bot to do AIM or Yahoo Messenger but I imagine there might be. I've just never looked.

Hmmmmm... I'll be back later :D

lolz I serioulsy always get fucking flagged on CL ( not with cpa yet)

Best way on CL would be to post an ad, get emails, send offers

Well, you asked what was spam and both craigslist and Myspace count as spam; not e-mail spam, but it is definately spam. "Spamming" can get sued and have other generally unpleasant things (including getting banned from most affiliate networks.) I wouldn't recommend it.

Is posting ads on Craigslist really that bad? If you look there are TONS of ads on it.

Thats what I thought. When does an ad cross the line from an offer to spam?

Is it spam if you write an ad and post your email. When a person emails you they get a 'vacation response' with a message and a link?

You haven't email them without consent.

I would understand thatif you took that email address and used the details for email list purposes, that would be spam

the best way to post on craigslist is post a benign ad, and have an autoresponder to the email with your offer. otherwise it'll get flagged in a heartbeat.

Isn't that just spam then? If you post some bullshit ad just for people to email you, then you send them an offer, how is that ok? And if posting on CL gets you banned, why is there so many ads on there? Just some food for thought.

Is it Spam? I have no idea....

Does anyone know if doing this kinda of thing is Spam or Not?

read this and make your own judgement, or ask a lawyer:

The CAN-SPAM Act: Requirements for Commercial Emailers

To clarify, there is "spam" and then there is e-mail spam. E-mail spam has federal laws relating to it while spamming web sites is a grey area, which regardless, the website's owner can still sue you and win. You just might not end up in prison.

Can anyone recommend a couple of affiliate networks that do accept craigslist traffic? Won't ban you for it? If so and you don't want to post, I'd appreciate a PM. Thanks.

I'd never spam anything but if I did I'd make sure I was using proxies and not sending traffic that had my name on it.
