After starting out a year and a half ago with Bluehost, I recently went looking around for new hosting at the advice of a friend of mine. Near-constant CPU outages were causing problems with Bluehost, which PYSIH is sitting on. 90,000 or so monthly uniques on that site brought too much downtime and I was missing out on the $40 a month that the site brought in.
He told me about Hawkhost and gave me a recommendation, so I wandered over there and opened up a shared hosting account for my hosting needs on a few projects that I was going to set up.
Cheap, but good hosting. Haven't had any problems in the 4 months I've been with them. Even set up another account with them because I get nervous when I get too much traffic on a shared hosting plan.
I think the cost was 5 bucks a month, but you can find coupons for 40% off the first year's worth of hosting. There was another plan that cost even less. Unlimited databases, subdomains and so on.
And you can set up wildcard domains yourself, which is good.
