Question About Expiring Domains

Hi,

I've got a question for those who have some experience with this - regarding expired domains. I'm going through some domain lists and I'm finding domains with decent backlink profiles. By decent, I mean I've found domains that have...

DA/PA: 30+
CF/TF: 25/30
PR: 4 - not faked. No change in archive.org - was a goverment "info" website before.

Links: 200 diff domains, sprinkling of .edu/.gov
General category: Health

So I'm trying to build out a bit of a PBN - and I've been trying to get domains that are relevant to my topic. This is difficult (as in any specialized niche) and what I'm wondering is this.

Are domains like the one above still worth bidding on/picking up if I can get them for $50? Could I use them for something with my PBN? Can I use them to "power up" my PBN? Something like this?

Or if the pic doesn't work...

Money site < Niche Specific Domains < General broad niche domains?

Is that going to help/be beneficial? OR a waste of time and money?

I *hate* to let these domains go as they seem a relatively rare find, but if it can't pull it's weight and help out, I'm not going to pick it up.

Are these kinds of domains useful to a PBN? As kind of a 2nd tier link in my PBN? Hoping someone experienced can help me out before auction ends tomorrow :-)

Thanks!

They might be, but your goal seems to be to use them to help link to your money site. In relation to that, a question about dollar value would depend a lot on the niche and earning potential of the particular money site.

I would say, this should totally depend on your budget. If you have free dollaz for these domains and you don't need to get any ROI from these dollaz any time soon, then why not to invest. If you don't kill the new site with spam links, it's your long term investment and something really (although passively) valuable.

Another option, would be build site in an original niche and then include some section that connects the original niche with your niche. For example, Using heavy gears for curing mesothelioma. Well, kidding, but you got the idea. And link to your site from these pages.

Hi All,

Unfortunately I didn't win the domain mentioned above... too bad. However, I did get one domain...

PR: 2
TF:27
CF:17
DA:20
PA:30
500 links from 100 different domains. Branded urls.

Cost: $19

I am pretty sure that's a good deal, so I'm going to *cautiously* keep dipping my toes into this area.

Also, thank you to everyone who took the time to reply here (Golan, Moxie) - and for doing so quickly. I was under a time gun when I posted this as the auction was in 16 hours and then my thread went to moderation... and I pretty much snapped :-)

All the best!
