Question About FB Ads Manager Token Fields

If I put in these to track my ads, do they show to the user who mouses over my ad?

For instance, if my ad is www.mysite.com/blahblah&t202kw={gender}-{age}-Ad Text{txt}

Does the user see the text before the brackets ('Ad text') or the token brackets themselves?

Also, is there any way to use this script and still mask/clean the links going through a php 'go' file so they don't see my demo info at the end of the link?

They won't see the link if they mouseover. They'll see facebook's jumplink.

The actual link will contain the demographic info and not the token fields (ie: itll show 25 for age, instead of {age}).

You can mask the links via a jumplink and that should do a good job of hiding it. However, if they really want to see the originating link and your demo info, they could use something like LiveHTTPHeaders or some other program that follows redirects and that demo info will be visible.

I assume you want to hide this from other affiliates, not the average joe clicking your ads. I'm not familiar with the particular software but it seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to just hide it in a code that only you knew. For example instead of putting "25" for the age you could use b as the 2nd letter of the alphabet and e as the 5th and write "be" that way you can still track the ad but everyone else can't tell what's going on.

Ya, thats not possible with FB Ad Manager if you want to use the standard {tokens} available.

Are you all talking about the FB Ad manager software or the actual ad manager within Facebook?

Putting tokens into my URLs in facebook and having facebook parse along demographic information would be very very useful. I tried this though, and it didn't parse any variables along.

if you use fb ads manager just create your own code for your subids/tokens on critical data.

at the very least you should be able to parse data using a get variable as a subid to your network or if you're using tracking/prosper202 you should be able to track it using keywords within 202.
