Hi, I was hoping someone could give me just a little advice for starting Facebook advertising. I am going to run a ppc campaign tonght for a gaming offer (think Mafia Wars, etc). I understand how to test my offers and run the campaign, but the offer I was recommended has a payout of .50/lead. I am going to have a daily spending limit of either 20 or 50 dollars a day; I havent decided on which yet. That being said, should I even bother on a campaign with such a low payout? or should I do a different offer (dating, etc) with a higher payout? Again, thank you for your imput, I appreciate your time.

You about to get burn 50 cent/lead, that's less than the CPC bid you have no chance of making any money. If you're really serious about running that offer for that pay use CPM.

You'll need a ridiculous CTR to get something like that profitable. Maybe possible with a new offer, but Mafia Wars is shit old.

Take advantage of lesser competition and start internationally.. Ask your AMs for their top international offers, look at suggested bids for the demographic/countries you're thinking of targeting (that'll be the upper end assuming your CTR is decent), divide payout by lower end of suggested bid (again assuming you'll have decent CTR) to get ballpark clicks per conversion for breakeven, take the ballpark conversion % needed for breakeven and see if it can be reasonably expected from the offer. That'll give you an idea of what's reasonable to run.. But 99% of the work is testing, testing, testing. Let the numbers do the talking.

As I said several times I wouldn't even bother with ANY paid traffic and payout $0.5. You think gaming converts like zip/e-mail submits ? You are wrong. They convert like shit.

$20 - $50 a day? Even with a huge 300% roi, at most you'd be making less $150 a day, which is a pretty shit salary. Up your ante or get left behind. Also, $50 isn't enough to gather statistical relevance in data.

yes you can make it profitable but you're going to need a great CTR, just take some time to think of some good targeting before you start

$50 is not enough for data on $0.5 payout ? I hope it's a joke lol, especially for "per day"
Yeah he can make it profitable, but is it worth it ? Take all that $20-$50 / day money and create some well SEOed site around this payout. Ideal way imho.

Posted this on my fb account, guess I'll repost it here. People here that say that an offer with such a low payout is not worth promoting are far from right. Below are my results from a week ago on a 6 hour running ad. 110% ROI.

few AM's tells me usually that gaming converts at 4-5% and I experienced it myself frankly to say. There is something more to your screenshot regarding 10 times higher conversion rates. My traffic was not FB but with decent CTR and very very targeted.

I am really happy to see that the trash of WickedFire is starting to go away..... People are again giving good advice with proper backup......
I can tell you that you can do VERY VERY good with those payouts when it comes to Facbeook Apps. Conversions are close to 60% on newer games and you can get 30-40% on older games.
If your CTR is good enough, you can get clicks for 8-12 cents and little by little increase profits for you. You will not become rich right away, you have to work your way through.

what about games which are not facebook apps ?:) also those conversion rates ?

The conversion rates partly depend on how complex the sign up is. With apps they pay on install so the conversion rate is good, all people need to do is click the allow button. With games with a first page submit the conversion rates go down a bit more and then you get games with a double opt in where the conversions can go down even futher. However epcs should remain stable as usually the more complex the sign up the more you get paid.

hey thanks alot everyone for your help and imput. I wish I could contribute to this forum but I highly doubt I have anything to offer that you dont already know. I launched the campaign about 30 minutes ago (FB approved my ads in my sleep, campaign paused). I am spending about 10-12 cents PC and have spend $1.65 for earnings of $7.50 with a CTR of .153%. Thanks again guys ill keep you posted.
