I have mined up a few hundred expired domains. These domains are way expired... like years in some cases, so they arent on domain auctions. You can just go register them.

I went one by one and pulled out all the domains that had PA and DA, then checked the BL profile in Majestic. I was left with several that had PA and DA in the 18-24 range with good looking links.

Checking PR, they all had ZERO. I assume because they were expired so long. And, the sites are no longer indexed. Again, due to age expired.

Question, are these still valuable to build a little private network around. Everything looks good except the PR and non indexing.

Of course they are not indexed. And of course they don't have PR. Unlike DA, TF and other stuff, PR does not only depends on the backlinks profile. Also the site "liveness" seems to be very important factor here. So links are there, DA is there and TF is there, but PR isn't. In many cases (if your finding is really good) some PR will be gained again with the next update after the site is revamped and indexed.

Especially the last PR update has killed PR of these sleeping domains. I had hundreds of PR domains in my list and the last update left only a handful of them.

Also, if it may be helpful to somebody, I found that nTLD's drops keep PR much better than gTLD's. All kinds of .uk, .ca, .sg, .ph and other shit.

If the links pointing to them are still active I would imagine that once you put content on them again, they would re-gain their value. On the next update they should get some PR back.

Hi,

How are you mining these old domains?
