With a little traction in the Affiliate Marketing front, I’m looking to get a batch of business cards made up. What do you put on them, though, when you can’t identify your website(s)?

NAME
COMPANY
ADDRESS
PHONE
EMAIL

Anything else? Do you have a blurb in there that identifies what you do, specifically (e.g. Affiliate Marketing / SEO/ et al.)

What grabs your attention when someone hands you their business card?

You don't need identify your personal / marketing websites, but you can put together a corporate site and put that url on your card. JerseyGirlMedia.com or whatever.

What grabs your attention when someone hands you their business card?
I can tell you what doesn't grab my attention:
  • Handing me a card as the conversation begins (You may be wasting your time)
  • People who talk about themselves first (Show some etiquette)
  • Networks who have nothing substantial to offer (You have FlyCell and True? Awesome.)
  • The word "Expert" anywhere on the card (No, you're not)

Haha, well put AIM

Any recommendations on where to go to get business cards? I need to get some made as well!

VistaPrint has good deals on business cards

If you're wondering what TITLE to give yourself, after a lot of searching, thinking and debating I think PRINCIPAL is the best choice if you're coming from a "Corporate Identify" standpoint.

I have about 6 sets of cards, the most popular that I use however is really simple:

First Name Last Name
"ridiculously arrogant quote" (ie 'Global Domination' / 'iMarket' / 'real results' etc)

Then in the lower right hand corner email (firstname@lastname.com) and cell phone.

I use these for both personal contacts and business contacts 75% of the time.

They're printed on navy blue stock in gold and are irregularly cut. They stand out. Most every card I've been handed from a celebrity/someone who's in a real position of power/wealth have next to nothing on them, I decided to replicate that and it's worked well.

This is kind of sad, but the paper stock is what impresses me more than anything else.

Card has a texture to it. That texture gives it a look and feel.
Gloss lamination & Satin Varnish looks cheap, and feels unpleasant to touch, where as something like Papyrus or Cotton paper makes the card look almost like a victorian era calling card AND is pleasant to touch.
For most people, they subconsciously register that pleasing sensation of touch with the card** and therefore the information on the card. It's a very powerful psychological tactic, and I've found it working on me even when I know about it.
A slight perfume to the cards also works very well, provided it's a VERY subtle scent, and it's a natural one.
Men respond especially well to vanilla. Women respond well to the smell of dried leaf matter (apparently... It's a sort of cinammony smell).

I don't use scented cards, but I do use Marble textured paper.

As for what to put on it, I go for stuff like this:

AFFILIATION CASH
Online Marketing & Revenue systems

Harvard Jackson - Division Manager

*(we like to make up titles for ourselves)
**I got this one from a Rushkoff book. Forgot which one. Probably Coercion

Ok, I used to work for a company that did professional stationery and business cards, so here are some tips for you to follow when making your cards:

Don't get some tacky ass glossy card with graphics on it and bullshit. Keep it simple. Raised thermography print on a good cardstock like Strathmore or a good linen stock look great in white and natural-white(off-white or whatever).

Glossy business cards full of graphics are tacky and unprofessional unless the graphics are like a branded recognizable logo like ebay,ms,etc..

Keep it simple.

I like linen card stock, you can see texture a little in this pic

I debated putting something like Affiliate Marketing on there between my name and my website, but I didn't want to pigeonhole myself, and I occasionally do things other than that.
