After reading some of the guides at WickedFire Treasure Trove 2008 - Articles & Posts You Need to Read (that's in the Affiliate Marketing section) I have noticed the guides are like from 2007. Now, can I really try to use those guides? Are there things that changed ever since that I should know?

Also, I can see that everyone are saying that good long tail keywords are abundant, but I am really struggling to find them. How many searches a month does a keyword should have in order to be considered good?

I have also been trying to market the magic of making crap (that's how I call it now) and noticed that for long (real long) tail keywords I get like 2 million results. Does this niche just too saturated for pathetic newbies?

Did I ask too many questions? (here is another one... :crap:)

ah fuk it all...

relax, you're asking things in the right place. A lot of things have changed, but the basics of making ads and such really remain the same. I don't hear much about arbitrage anymore, I'm sure it's done.

Long tail keywords can be good, but I always just started with a single (maybe a few to test), broad match keyword and tracked in my prosper202 setup. I'd add keywords from there. Focus on CTR so that your costs go down, as well.

What is the magic of making crap?

i have also been reading everything i can about AM and feel like at this point I need to start doing. I have applied to some networks and either been rejected or not heard anything. Anytime I try to call them I get an answering machine and leave a professional message about my application and AM etc, trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about on the message.

is there something more I can do?

ya, I just cruised through that recently, methods are still legit, just dated a little

Snaps, that should be all you have to do. They didn't call back?

i actually just got a call back tonight and was accepted to my first network. exciting times, now to start testing and making some money

What sort of offers are you planning to run? I would suggest keeping in contact with you affiliate manager. Explain what you're looking for and they can make some good suggestions for you.
