So i don't fully understand copywriting services, and i am hoping someone can clear things up.

so say i have a landing page created to promote car insurance with no content, sales copy written on it, and i don't know shit about car insurance. Does the copywriter go out and research the niche, then decide what is the best copy? Do they learn the specific niche and decide to list bulleted points or maybe paragraph form? I just don't understand the full extent of their work. Can i tell them i need to get ppl to fill out an auto quote, and magically they have a pretty good idea of what will do that?

I am hoping it is like that, but am looking to hear from ppl that have used them

So u expect that some body else will do all the hard work for few bucks and you'd reap the benefits?

Nah...They would only re-write article(s) from any source that you'd provide them.

I think it depends on the copywriter. If I were you I'd do most of the research yourself or you'll at least need to verify the facts of the copywriter when you get the information.

I also wouldn't plan on the content you get back being the best, especially if you're paying $2-3 for your copy. The best idea for something like this would be to write it yourself or pay a copywriter extra so they can invest more time in the copy.

i meant more if i was paying someone on elance like $15 an hour, so a decent wage, someone that actually does this kind of stuff for a living or a side job, not just some people from india or the philipines

Bro, it definitely depends on who you hire, and what you pay. Are you hiring someone who specializes in sales copy? or specializes in a certain niche? Fish around, ask for samples!

Basically a copy writer would do whatever he could such as researching the niche and then writing about it specifically

Someone mentioned "$2-3 copywriters". There is no such thing.

I can't speak for other copywriters, though I hope you do hire someone that does research, because that isn't asking much. I'd actually say its about 70%+ of my work.

I can usually get a good idea of what will work from a niche and a traffic source, but client input is always much appreciated. If you're trying to expand your current campaigns, hopefully you have some idea of what will work and who your audience is. And that's the kind of info that can really help the copy.

Feel free to PM me with any other questions.

Copywriters
Article writers
e-Book writers

These are all different type of writers you can spot in the Buy/Sell/Trade section. However, some may claim that they can do most, if not all, of the tasks you set. The reality is that not everyone is an expert. It takes good communication (and little bit of luck!) to see find that special writer :)
