It took a week for me to find forty minutes to watch these, but I highly recommend them, especially to those starting out or spinning wheels:
Presentation: Bootstrapping to Seven Figures by BigCommerce Co-Founder Mitchell Harper
For the tl/dw folks:
First video is almost all introduction and setup, but has some usefull stuff from about five minutes on
Second video has some good info about creating a profile of your buyers/traffic and targeting it.
The third video has a ton of good info on maintaining a video channel, an e-mail list/newsletter, a ton of useful links for resources etc. It also (perhaps of particular interest to WickedFire BST guys) recommends spending as much as $5,000 a month once you have traffic and conversions on various types of pro help, and I can see much of this video being used to help craft a sales pitch for SEO and other paid services, especially for selling outside of the affiliate industry.
Fourth video is mainly recap, and has some advanced/optional strategies as well.
Mitchell Harper, the guy who made the videos, has pretty good credibility in having created multiple ventures out of next to nothing, one of which -- BigCommerce -- has done very well. He does not spend any of the time in any of the videos trying to sell anything, and only mentions his own newsletter in passing.
