I've been reading Wicked Fire for well over a year now, and playing around with a number of "ideas" and "concepts" for how I could harness the power of the internets to make monies. I've wasted a fucking hell of a lot of time just bumming around. For a while I was making a little bit running dating campaigns on Facebook. I've set up a couple websites for local business owners. Mostly though, I've been ineffective in my efforts.

I know I can change. I've been successful enough in several projects and the money is there. I've just never been able to stick with it.

I feel like I know a lot - I have read a LOT of wicked fire... but I've been the epitome of an asshole and never taken action beyond setting up a few wordpress blogs and closing a few deals with local business owners. I'm pretty good at the sales side of things, so if anyone here is able to help me set up my shit in the local marketplace, I can assure you I'll be able to pay you for your assistance. Damn foolish business owners don't mind giving me money, which I mostly squandered like the bum I was before this moment.

I definitely could use the collective assistance here at WF to help me succeed, which is what I'm hoping to get by splaying myself out here like this. Also hoping I can help others by writing a modern guide to making the ideas that have been around this forum for years work. Mostly though, I intend to masturbate to my own efforts, hopefully providing pleasure to this gay forum.

What I'm trying to accomplish right now creating highly ranked local niche websites that will allow me to sell leads to local businesses. This seems like it should be an obvious and easy endeavor. I've read the local seo thread about five times but I've never put together an organized effort to take care of the local seo. Maybe I can get some help here...

Here is what I've done with my hour's efforts:

  1. Purchased a local niche domain
  2. Used WP Direct to set-up (hopefully) Page SEO'd WP Blog
  3. Searched WF for niche directories to submit the site to (I also plan to ping what I've done so far)

My biggest problem is that I don't have a system in place to follow, so my efforts end up very jumbled and ineffective. I also think that I'm not using the best tools - would WF Review be a better software for this? What should I be using each step of the way? I apologize in advance for my stupidity and appreciate greatly any advice offered.

Cheers on a Saturday,

Scotty G

I don't think anyone here can offer the magic formula that will give you persistence. That's something you have to do for yourself. Sounds like you're not too far off the right track, though.

You should consider partnering with someone. I know most people shy away from JVs, and sometimes with damn good reason, but I've been thinking about things like this alot lately and there's just too much crap to do and not enough of me to do it. VA's only go so far especially when alot of your time goes into management with them. If you truly have the ability to sell to the locals you would be pretty valuable to most SEOers like me who can't stand that crap.

Hey, sorry guys, I totally lost track of this thread.

1. Captain Ron is one of my favorite movies. Also, they aren't foolish - I'm just having confidence issues because I'm a perfectionist and have trouble living up to my own outlandish standards.

2. Good point, kingofsp

3. As far as a JV goes - that would be extremely helpful. I was actually looking to do this a while ago with someone on WF but I haven't been talkative enough to form any legitimate, trusting relationships. I'm currently working with my father who is in his fifties and loves the concept of this whole thing and has subsequently bought numerous guru products (causing me considerable shame). He is a great dude but isn't at all helpful with the technical side of things, unfortunately.

I have a solid idea for marketing niche SEO sites and I actually enjoy sitting down with business owners and explaining to them the joys marketing their shit on the internet. Turbolapp, I'm looking at you - if you enjoy the SEO aspect of this, I'd be happy for the opportunity to work with you and have some decent ideas I could share about acquiring more clients. I've closed a pretty absurd percentage of the folks I've sat down with and may be able to help you a great deal. PM's on the way...

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of prices do you charge for your local clients? I do really well with SEO on my own and have been considering the local market, I have just been wondering if it is worth the hassle of dealing with clients.

The initial contracts I've been doing are around 1,400 for the initial setup and ongoing monthly fees of ~300-500 - I anticipate that I could charge more.
