I am almost certain that some complete COCK SUCKER just executed a DOS on our server. Our CPU usage shot through the roof and nearly died.

How do i check in cPanel? (hence Newbie Question!)

Dude, I am with the same company, resellerzoom.com and my sites where down yesterday for about 7 hours. They said nothing was wrong, but there was. Now seeing you were hit as well, that just proves it. Let me know if you find out anything.

If you are getting DOS'd look into mod_evasive for apache, but you are shared hosting so I guess it doesn't matter cause you don't have root anyway.

I'm with reseller zoom also and haven't noticed any downtime.
