I need to run a program from a questionable source. I am an exchange student, and I am going home after this semester and its not really convenient to get a separate computer just for this right now, so I will use it on my main laptop i use for everything else. The program needs access to internet. What can I do to prevent the program to remain in the memory, keylog or whatever other stuff good hackers can stuff it with?

I already have good basic security, antivirus, firewall up to date and so on. What would the next step be? Virtual machine? Separate OS install? If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be really grateful.

yup,use a virtual machine. get vmware or virtual box which is freeware i think.

just sandboxie is fine. its free although you get a nag screen after 30 days. you can remove that by registering for a few bucks.

Yea, sandboxie is great; I like having the ##'s in the title bar so when you have lots of windows open, you know which ones are sandboxed.
