Same type websites on same ip

Say I am selling 'Belt Buckles' and I have 10 different websites selling them off my 1 sharred hosting acct. ip address. Each site though, has different types and styles of 'belt buckles' , each different from all of the other websites. Each website sells different belt buckles.

Will this hurt my SEO Rankings for some of the websites with all 10 websites being on the same ip?

Will search engines penalize your website's ranking because of this?

Should I get other hosting accounts with different ip's and split the wesbites between them?
 


If you have similar websites on same IP... I think that won't be a matter of concern.

In fact you can cross-link them if they are related business.
I have seen a video of Matt Cutts where he was saying that cross linking of limited number of websites is perfectly fine.
 
It may not hurt your rankings, but google's quality team may not like it. Panda was made to move these types of situations down in rank and inspire you to compile all of them in one site. Or at least that has been how people have gotten their traffic back.

I've had the same question. I came across four amazing EMD's in one niche. I bought and developed them all. Once all four are ranking for the home pages, I'm going to keep the most profitable and sell the other three just to be safe. I'm not sure, and I've heard differing opinions from people I trust. I'd rather keep my adsense account than take a chance. The one I keep will be developed into a full blow authority.
 
FYI: Godaddy's overcrowded servers (which most the world over uses for their personal sites) contain millions of domains on a single IP address.

So no, Google or any other search engine would be insane to penalize you for that.

They do however give preference to websites who are proven to "load faster" than their competitors. So if you have 1,000 different sites all on one IP/server and it is causing you to slow down the serving of your web pages, then perhaps it could have some effect.
