Q: Any recommendations how to further increase the power of this submission?

A: Use at least 5 different title/anchor variations and 5 different descriptions. Max should be around 15, because you wouldn’t need any more really, but if you want you can have unlimited variations.

It is not possible with directory submissions to have a real time live link report, because links usually go through an approval process. That means that admins manually check and moderate links, much the same as a blog comment. So the approval will depend on how often the admin checks these submissions and the quality of your website.

Q: What is the acceptance rate?

A: Usually it’s around 80% - 90%. The better quality your website is the more acceptance you can expect. And the more time you took to write proper descriptions and followed the standard directory rules, the better.

Q: How do I maximize the acceptance rate?

A: It’s best if you use the standard rules from dmoz. Keep the description of your site brief (150-250 characters). A well-written, objective description will make listing your site easier.


  • Do not use any HTML tags
  • Write in complete sentences and/or descriptive phrases using proper grammar, punctuation and correct spelling.
  • Do not use ALLCAPS in your description.
  • Avoid capitalizing every word in a sentence.
  • Don’t repeat the title of your site in the description.
  • Avoid using promotional language and strings of key words and search terms. Words and phrases like “cool” and “best darn site” will be removed.
 
Q: Won’t so many links at the same day hurt my rankings?


A: Absolutely not! Why? First reason is the google index. It takes time for google to discover new links and pages on all these thousands of directories. Second reason is because all these directories have a different link approval process and time periods. While some of these links may get approved the same day, the majority will be evenly spread out through the coming days, weeks and some even months. The links will just keep on coming, thus increasing your natural linking profile.
 
Q: Can I give more than one description?


A: Yes. We support multiple descriptions, but not in spyntax format. If you have a spinner application (like TBS), please spin it there and you can provide us with the descirption variations in text format.
