Stupid noob question: how do I "apply rel-nofollow to all affiliate links"?

Is this still considered good practice? I just read that in order to get indexed with affiliate links you have to do this, but the article was from 2007 so is it still valid?

(I tried to append this to the post above but it said it's been over 10 minutes and I can't)

edit - part 2:

All I want to do is have an affiliate "review" site that I SEO. I'm not planning on using Adwords. But I want to make sure I don't break any rules according to google (eg. I want to get good google search ranking).

So what exactly is required, or what exactly can I not do? Is redirecting affiliate links with .htaccess a no-no? I've seen a lot of top-ranked google "review" sites that do do redirection so I'm thinking google doesn't penalize for that.

Are there any rules as to like how many affiliate links can be on a page before your page gets flagged a spam or thin affiliate or something?

Thanks.
