Anyone know if you can do subid's with Amazon products?

I'm putting together an ecommerce site with a lot of my own products, but would like to fill in with other products from Amazon. I'm having affiliates sign up using iDevAffiliate and I would need to pass their id on as a subid to my Amazon link so I can track who's traffic purchased from Amazon.

Is this possible?

damn.. anyone know of any offers that sell a wide variety of physical products that allow this?

Was gonna say the same thing. You can create up to 100 tracking IDs yourself and can get up to 1000 if you go through customer service:
https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/help/t12/a5
That should be plenty for your e-commerce affiliates.

The bigger question is how are you going to mix Amazon products with your own? AFAIK, there's no way to have one shopping cart system for both. The only "shopping cart" support Amazon has is their aStore, which is an iframe, which means you loose all SEO benefits and you can't mix in other products. And regular product links will take visitors away from your site immediately so they can't purchase your stuff at the same time.

As for your other question about "offers that sell a wide variety of physical products", read this thread:

If you don't want to commit money to stock your own products, you can find a drop shipper in your niche to start. Higher margins than with Amazon and you have full control over everything. Plenty good info in that thread.

good info, thanks!
I've read through the ecommerce thread, great stuff there. I have some drop shippers as well, plus a bunch of our own products already, but looking to fill in with more to offer, so thought I'd check out amazon, since they have everything.

I talked to Amazon at ASW09 about adding subids to their system. And, they said that they could do it and it'd only be a "medium-sized" project to get done. But, guess what? They still haven't done it.

a limited number of tracking ids != subid support. if you are doing banners it might be ok but for anything with ppc its not good enough imo
