I'm a bass player myself with a good knowledge of the instrument and playing experience. I want to design a site for bass players. There's a company that sells basses for a low price but the quality/cost ratio is really good, a product I really feel beginner bassists should know about. I own several myself. My target audience is people who want an affordable bass guitar, likely a first bass guitar. How should I go about finding out how much of a market there is for that?

There's a really large bass forum out there, go thru it and see what everyone is getting, as well as what everyone is looking for.

Whatever you are planning to offer, make sure you show some love to the left-handed players because it's hard to find something middle-of-the road, it's either low-end or high-end.

I've got one of those low-ends but before I drop serious cash on something nicer, I'll probably make upgrades to the one I have since for things like pickups it doesn't matter what hand you play with.

Way cool! I'm a bass player myself. I have a Warwick NT 6 and a Squier fretless bass.

Do you know Online Bass Lessons at StudyBass.com The guy's promoting Amazon books and music for iTunes

Do some research on keywords like "cheap bass guitar", "used bass guitar", "free bass guitar lessons", "bass tabs".
