I need something to popup a small window with a form in it on top of the page while obscuring the rest. This should be in front so the rest is not accessible.

I found Thickbox (ThickBox 3.1)
It's a very nice tool, but I can't seem to make it run.

I even tried to down the site and run it on my server, doesn't work either.

Has anybody experimented with this? Or do you know another solution?

Thanks
HH

Why doesn't it run? Does it output any error message? I tried ThickBox several times and worked okay for me...

huh?

Whatthefuck is wrong with a simple javascript popup for that?

No need to bog down your site with thickbox.

Only the text and button content appears and it's halfway sticking out on the left side of the page.

The background is not there, anything.

Checked DTD, files, everything. Still doesn't work.

I will try lightbox

If you have multiple css files, check the order in which they are called in your page source.

Lightbox probably wont help you much, from what I recall, it only works for images.

Your stuck with Thickbox or other lightbox-esque scripts designed to handle Iframed, Inline or AJAXed content in addition to images, etc.

Can you post a screenshot of what its doing/not doing?

I use Thickbox just about damn near everyday and have yet to run into any serious issues, I agree with jyran21, check the order of your CSS files, its possible that you have the Thickbox css setup to be pulled in before another CSS file which is then overwriting Thickbox declarations, otherwise, I would check the Firefox 'Error Console' for any Errors (Make sure you clear any existing ones, reload the page and try the Thickbox again with the Error Console open)
