Thoughts on a double dash/hyphen (--) domain

Was thinking about picking up a fresh registration double dash domain with an (otherwise) exact match domain.

Anyone have any thoughts on why this wouldn't work? I haven't seen it in the serps really, but who the hell knows

That will depend on your objective with the domain. If you are in it for the long term I would always choose a branded domain. Churn and burn I would maybe consider it.
