Having an argument with someone that there is no such as too many creatives

What do you think? Is there such a thing as too many creatives/banners running at once? Or should I just load up as many as I have and let it rip?

I tend to think of it the same way as keywords, there can be too many keywords in an adgroup but what about banners?

What benefit do you possibly see with using lots of creatives all the time instead of starting with a few and narrowing it down/optimizing as much as possible?

If you want to waste time and money then by all means throw up 20 different banners for your new campaign and let me know if you feel its a good use of time.

We absolutely need a poll for this question of grandeur

No such thing as too many creatives as long as you are cutting the ones that aren't working.

Sure, but testing too many at once will just burn your budget, it's stupid to be rotating 100 creatives on a $20/day budget because it'll take you months to get any decent statistical data.

Test 5-10, drop low CTR or converting and create another 5-10, repeat. So yes maybe 100 creatives in total but probably no more than 5-10 of those will actually be profitable enough to run long-term.

We like to test 1-2 at a time just so we can allocate a good number of impressions and analyze really well without blowing our daily profit number. If you have too many creatives going at one time, you are likely to overlook a lot of variables.

There is no such thing as too many creatives but I know one thing, you have waaaayy too much time on your hands if you're having gay banner debates with your friend

I literally make about 50 different ones of each banner size and split test them all - throttle traffic high so I can get results quick. I don't like to fuck around and I always use the time I have before an outclause to the most of my ability.

Really depends on how much traffic you have. Takes so much traffic to get statistical relevance on the creatives. So each one you add, adds to the number of impressions you need.
