Two domain names for one site?

If you can't decide between two different domain names, can you use both of them and somehow get stats on which one gets visited the most.

If this is a dumb question, flame away. There are still some things I don't get yet.

ppc.bz did a recent post about picking domain names for PPC CTR. You could spend all the effort to build two sites to see which one converts. Or just pick the most brandable or keyword targeted domain name and run with it.

Build 'em out with unique content and rotate them to compare. If you want to dominate a niche you need more than one site anyway.

Thanks bigbyte, that's something the gurus never tell you. I am not sure what you mean by rotate them to compare. Wouldn't you just compare your results using analytics?

you want to make sure that its the domain thats the reason for a better a conversion rate, so you need to make sure it's not the content (by rotating)

I don't think it's necessary to build two websites unless you're going for niche domination, I'd just stick with one and point the other domain to it. You're going to need unique content for both of them otherwise or else you wont get a reasonable comparison. If you do build two seperate websites then you can just split test the ads between them to see which brings the best results.
