My buddy dave recently joined WF and wanted to sell this script he made a while back. I figured i'd vouch + post for him.

Hi guys. My name is David and I'm brand new here on Wickedfire. I signed up and am making this thread at the suggestion of my friend Nick (who's into this whole marketing/affiliate/making money online deal). I'm primarily a coder and do mostly freelance work by writing web applications in Java and some C++.

Well at the suggestion of my sister (who also does the whole make money online thing), I decided to "try" to make an SU bot, and even though it proved to be quite difficult I did it. (I think it might be the only working non-macro bot out.. don't quote me on that though, I'm not really part of this community.) SU updated their stumble system a couple of years ago (I had some working bots back in the day, as well) making it nigh impossible to get "fake stumbles" or get sites ranked high in their respective categories. But no longer!

I wrote the bot in PHP mostly treating it like just trying to figure out a puzzle, but from what I hear, there might be some people interested in purchasing it.

I really don't want to over-saturate the market so I'm straight up only selling it to 1-5 people MAX, depending on what you're willing to pay. Or if someone wants to purchase exclusive rights, that's fine as well (you'll be the only one with the source). I personally don't use the bot as I have no need for it, so whoever buys it will be the ONLY one using this great resource.

You MUST provide your own userlist and database to use it (common sense), but since they updated their stumbling system, SU conversely made signups significantly easier (so making 100+ accounts should really only take you 1 hour, but I suggest doing your own signups through proxies).

Speaking of proxies, you CAN make the SU bot work via a proxy (just uncomment one PHP line), but from my experience, it doesn't matter unless you've got 1k+ accounts.

Okay, enough talk, here's the bot in action:

1. First you need to manually insert the website into SU's database (i.e. stumble it ONCE on your master account).
2. All you have to do is run ./stumble http://www.something.com
2* (You may want to set up proxy options, as well as set options in the PHP script before, but it's optional. I'll be fully explaining how the script works to whomever purchases it)
3. Voila...

The bot's name is Trippy. Yes I'm clever etc.

This is how the data is displayed (since my shit is blurred out for obvious reasons):

[TIMESTAMP] Successfully stumbled URL as SU_USERNAME (SU_USER_ID).

Obviously, if you get errors (as I provide in the screenshot), it's as verbose as I could make it.

A note: SU doesn't provide ANY error for "double stumbling" a site. However, the stumble does NOT count twice. So just be careful and understand that even though technically you can stumble a site more times on the same account (just how you can click the "stumble now" button on the Firefox bar as many times as you want), StumbleUpon only counts it once.

So that about sums this up. Lets get the bidding started at around $100!

Is this a one time sale? Does it work thru proxies and register accounts itself?
I plan on only selling a maximum of 5 copies to prevent over saturation. But like I said, if the price is right, I would be willing to send it to just one person.

It does NOT register accounts since new accounts need capcha verification. But the signup process is quite easy. If you just truck along for 1hour you should easily have around 100+ accounts.

It DOES work through proxies.

does it only accept a single proxy?
Right now, I have it set up so it only works with a single proxy. But it would be trivial to just have a proxy array and pick one at random. From what I can tell, the proxies have to be "fully anonymous" (somewhat hard to find -- i.e. no proxy forwarding headers) since proxy-specific headers trip some of SU's checks and the request just won't go through.

Ello cherubs. As a few of you know, I made Autostumble a couple of years back - distrubed automated stumble swaps, we successfully swapped over 500,000 votes and produced a hell of a lot of traffic of SU. I learnt a lot about SU and how they work in the process (especially the frequent updating when they took counter-measures to try and stop us :))

I obviously haven't tested the script in this post, but I have some reservations and questions that I think are worth sharing with you all.

1) Auto voting via script/proxies/fake accounts is child's play - Does your script consistantly produce traffic though? Where is the evidence of this?

2) Looking at how the script current runs (timestamps) - that's hugely, hugely unnatural to have so many stumbles so quickly - your URL would be banned in short time.

3) Adding reviews are a large part of getting popular on SU - your script does not appear to support this?

4) Most of the "weight" of Stumbles comes when the page is discovered by stumbling - direct stumbling does not produce the same effect.

Just points to think on..

edit: If anyone is interested, I posted the source code to Autostumble, so you can DL it for free/edit/play/learn at your leisure: http://www.digeratimarketing.co.uk/2010/02/01/autostumble-source-code-released/

1) I don't have any evidence of this nor would I care to divulge it. Any tool that you use needs to be used intelligently. The script logs into SU remotely and stumbles.

2) Adding a random number of seconds/minutes between stumbles is trivial.

3) Adding reviews once logged in is trivial.

4) SU doesn't save any (pertinent) cookies so it would have no idea what websites are "discovered" and what websites aren't. Furthermore, I have not encountered that and my conclusion is that stumbles are stumbles, no matter the "source". Although technically, there's only ONE way of stumbling, regardless so I'd like to see some evidence for your premise.

The "trick" of this script is that it remotely logs into SU (which your dated one cannot do). I also made an SU bot several years ago when this really was child's play. We sold a service that guaranteed your page to be in the top-5 of one of its categories.

Again, I've repeatedly been able to get ANY website in the top-5 of some of its categories. The traffic increase was obviously substantial. Of course, this was several years back. I didn't particularly try and see how effective this script is. But it's the only one of its kind out right now.

My questions were only that - questions, no need to get your knickers in a twist.

1) Stumble votes don't mean anything and aren't worth anything - it's the traffic that's valuable, so it seems odd you would refuse to provide any kind of evidence that your script delivers results, that's all.

2) Then you should probably do it :) Otherwise it's simply going to result in lots of banned accounts - which btw if you look, have their votes retroactively discounted.

3) Again, you should probably do this.

4) You can see your discoveries in profile: SU does look at this data.

I haven't sold my "dated one" (which btw has a good track record of delivering traffic) - so no need to go on the attack.

Seems odd you are trying to flog it, yet you haven't bothered getting around to seeing if/how well it actually works. Might put potential buyers off?

If you feel it would improve your script, I don't mind sending you the research data I collected on SU votes for AS.
