Verifying PR Issues?

I am in the process of buying some links. What I have ran into is some sites that seem to have a fake page rank. I use the seoquake for mozilla and It shows the site as having a pr6 (as stated by the seller) however it only shows just over 100 links and none of which seem high quality. So it seems fake.

In other cases their will be sites with a 3-4pr and low links and they seem questionable. Is their anyway to verify a sites pr?
 


I'm interested in this as well. I get concerned about these sellers offering posts on their high PR networks, but are these just high PR domains they bought and turned into blogs? They will all lose their PR when the toolbars update. It is concerning...
 
yeah.... you can verify PR by Google pr checker which is google's site prchecker.info

This is also my concern. I am considering buying some High PR sites but I am worried that once the domain is transferred, PR drops.
 
Has been some wacky PR issues ive noticed lately as well. Have a couple of people selling PR7 links, and the PR is showing as real. Only thing is that there are only 10 crappy links showing up to their site. Not sure whats up, but any input is appreciated.
 
The way pagerank is faked is by 301ing to a higher pr site. type info:sitename.com into google, if it comes up with a site other than the one you entered, it's faked. Another thing I always do when buying links is to check out their link profile, and export the links into scrapebox, and check the PR of the links with that. That's generally enough to give me a rough idea of whether it's worth buying the links.
