Why is it that god has to be a "person"? Haven't we moved past that concept already? Can't god be an all-encompassing cosmic energy? That energy is my god. I don't believe in religion, but I believe in god.

I don't think you know what the word 'God' or 'god' means. You're simply making up your own definition of something you don't understand. As words, 'God' and 'god' describes an entity that's supreme to all things in the Universe, and is the creator of it.
Energy != god.

Says who? No one can say what god is or isn't.
The energy I'm talking about is supreme to all beings, it's the source of creation. It's not something we can logically comprehend with numbers or equations. It all comes down to faith. Spirituality is not something you can define. People either have that deep mysterious feeling within them or don't.
You know the saying: "to those who believe, no explanation is necessary. To those who don't, none will suffice."
God, who is Infinite, because He is That which is beyond Conditions , contains All-Possibility, because His Infinity Contains All Due to Necessity.

The universe, earth, a human, a finger, and a molecule inside a body are all entities. "Energy", whether inside or outside the universe, could be defined as an entity also. If ghosts are real, then they would be an entity also, no matter what form they take.
If something is powerful enough to create the universe, it doesn't make much sense to say that they themselves are limited to being a certain arrangement of atoms. Saying god is energy makes just as much sense as saying that it has a penis.
But Moxie, they are only entities when you make distinctions, and all distinctions are arbitrary.

Further what is apparent is none of these entities are static objects, they are in constant flux and change. What is your finger now will not always be a finger.

The fact that "God" is such an ever changing concept, just goes to show what an utter load of bollocks it all is.
