I'm just beginning to read articles and blogs on IM and it seems to me that all these successful marketers have something that I don't: web design experience and an ability to write well.

If I'm passionate enough, I could probably convince a friend to create a site for me that I can promote.

But in general, do most marketers have experience in web design?

I lot of AM's can create landing pages and designs sites but I think a fair majority outsource the work.

Content is outsourced for many as well.

You don't necessarily need either skill sets to start out. If you are completely new to AM get ready for a long year.

Good luck.

There are also places all over the web to buy templates/landing pages. Can you at least program simple ones (content, forms, images, etc, etc, etc,)?

If you plan on being in this for any length of time, web design is something you will really need to pick up along the way. Even if you outsource everything, there are going to be times when you just need to make some minor changes and if you don't know how to do it yourself, it just cuts into your bottom line.

I absolutely agree with jryan2. In my few weeks of reading about this whole AM thing, I have noticed that the few eye catching campaigns out there that would probably have a higher rate of conversion cannot be made by your average Joe.

Moreover, even if you were a total n00b and were to hire a pro to design your stuff, you need to have some sort of idea on what you're getting for your money which is what sets apart the successful AMs from the majority. Many of them simply know their technical shit. Thankfully, there are plenty of free online tutorials that show you how to use photoshop, dreamweaver and so on...

You might want to take a look at xsitepro2, it's as easy as fuck to use & you can create some very nice sites with it.

I fucking love it.

I dont think every great marketer has web design experience or even great writing skills, but they definitely help

Website Development

I have developed my website adsonsearches.com for my freelance works
on SEO & PPC but not fully satisfied with the creation. If anyone could
offer me better suggestions, it would be helpful.

I got a suggestion, remove those W3C images from the footer because:
a) most people don't really know what they mean and I assume neither do you.

b) you have linked them directly to the validation pages without even including your url within those links hence the above assumption

c) your website has errors in the HTML validation which I suppose you never checked.

You could also probably stick to one font instead of different ones like you currently have on your menu, logo, banner, body text and so on...

I would guess a lot (1) don't know how to design, (2) don't care enough to want to learn when they can just outsource it, or (3) are simply too busy running the other aspects of their campaigns to mess with it. Which is how people like me stay in business. ;)

But I would definitely learn the basics, as pointed out above.
