I've set up my webstie: goodweightlosspills dot com. First of all I'd like to hear your opinion about it.
I've done some noob SEO on it which means I have a meta keywords and meta description tag. :D Is that enough or do i need to do more?
The second question is, what should i do now? I know i need to get some traffic, but I dont have money for PPC at moment. Is there any other (preferably free) way to get traffic to my site?
And my last question is, aproximately how long does it take for google to index my webpage?
Thats all for now. :D

What do you reckon? There are thousands of web pages out there that are targeting the phrase "weight loss pills". Suppose they all add that phrase to their keywords and description meta tags. Will they all rank #1?

But that's by the by because neither the keywords nor the description meta tag is used for ranking (the meta description might appear as your snippet in the SERPS). If you want to do some reading on SEO there's a good guide for noobs over at Tips For New Seos - High Rankings Search Engine Optimization Forum

I'm getting a bit fustrated because my site doesnt appear in the search results on google. It has been up for more then 24 hrs, but google didn't index it yet, is that normal?

Did you submit it?

google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Yeah I've done that. I also submitted the sitemap to google and I made around 200 links to my page from different pages. Later I realized that making so many links could be a mistake. Is it true that google can penalize you if you get too many links in a day?

Finally!

Finally, Google indexed 4 of my pages that rank for the search term goodweightlosspills now. :) Kinda sucky I know but its still a big step for a newb like me. My traffic is pretty crappy , 57 pageviews average/day and of course no sales yet.
I guess I need to start some serious link building. I've already made around 150 links through shoutboxes, submitted to around 20 social bookmarking sites and made a few blog comments with my link in them. They seem to generate pretty crappy traffic at moment, but I'm hoping that google searches will generate the real traffic when my pages will be properly indexed and ranking good for different keywords and the links are only for SEO.
