Website pages: How many do I really have?

With regards to indexing pages, I'm a little confused as to how many pages I have. My first thought is I have around 6. "contact us" "home" "listings"...blah blah . But what I'm confused about is for my listings I have about 5 per page and I have over 13K listings. Do SE think I have 2600 pages? Or does they just stop at www.mysite/listing? Instead of www.mysite/listing/automotive

I can't quite follow what you are saying... You should know how many pages you really have, right? Are you asking about how many pages google thinks you have?

Yes.

Another example is my site is directory, but it also has articles so

www. mysite/article is a main page but what about the actual articles themselves? that are not on that main page? so...
www. mysite/article/eat_righ_tonight
or www. mysite/article/top_10_dog_tips

Does google see and count all three as seperate pages? or does google only see the main article page and just count that? I'm just confused because when google indexed mysite it just seems to be the main pages and not the actual content, which i thought was what all this manual submission of daily content was about. Am I totally off here?

g won't necessarily index all your pages. or, it may index a few today, and then next week index 100 more.

i have one site that has around 1000 pages that i put up last week. yesterday i had 7 pages indexed. then this morning i had only 1 then this afternoon i had around 15. weird huh.

Each separate page is a separate page to google. If your site has 1000 pages google will see 1000 pages. It will take some time for the whole site to get indexed. You can do several things to help. Sitemap, deep inbound links, unique title tags, changing content... all should help. It could take weeks or months.
