This question was brought up a couple of days ago and I'm to busy to search around for the thread. I finally looked into it while I was brainstorming some ways to profit from the search box...

Just a warning to those that have been pre-populating the search box.

Again, please note that modification of the AdSense for search code is a violation of the AdSense program policies. Publishers may not:

Pre-populate the AdSense for search box
Create links to Google AdSense for search results
Frame Google AdSense for search results
Remove or alter the Google logo
