Hi,

I have heard that most internet marketers are using firefox. I decided to give firefox a shot and when I tried to install different addons, each time the firefox warned me that the addon could violate my privacy.

How can one tell if an addon can be used to steal passwords or anything else?

I wanted to know what internet explorer do you use and if you have got any advice for a newbie?

thanks

You're going to have to use Firefox for work. The plugins aren't negligible.

If you really wanted to see for yourself whether a plugin was transmitting your data to a site you could do that with a proxy program running on your own computer, but people use these all the time, and don't you think somebody would've noticed and had the plugin removed from the Firefox site?

It's not that I mean to be condescending but this is a small problem to get tripped up by. You don't NEED to use Firefox and its addons but eventually you're going to hear about an addon that does exactly what you need.

Plus, you could just not allow Firefox to store your password data. Easy solution.

Use Chrome (or even better, SRWare Iron) for your daily browsing. Use Firefox because of Firebug, Live HTTP, and every other awesome plugin that you can get for it.

For the love of god, stop using IE. If anything, you should worry about your security when using IE.

I have always used FF just because it makes things run smoother. The addons is great because normally when I am looking for a program or w/e firefox has me covered.

IE is a pita.

"What Internet explorer..."? Somebody should just stop you there. Anything but IE, I only keep it around to see what my landing page looks like through some different browsers.
