What Motivates You Guys to Pick Up a Program?

Is it cold hard cash, an interesting idea, or an easy sell? A bit of everything?

In your words - what would a SaaS product development / web application + web marketing service bad ass need to do to entice you guys to pick up a new program and roll with it?

Would free landers and a $300 payout on a $1000 product be enough? Very interested in what you cats have to say.
 


There's all kinds of shit you can promote. I'm working in the SaaS (Software as a Service) space and I want to leverage affiliates heavily. I should be in Vegas right now - but I waited too long and it's sold out. I just want to put some feelers out with affiliates in general about what would entice them to pick up programs to sell software applications - really well done stuff.
 
I think that a program has to appeal to the masses. I think selling a web application is going to be tough for the average affiliate marketer. You'll want to find someone who is doing a focused B2B mailing campaign instead and try to work something with them.
 
As an example...I'm a few days from being done with a competitor to LiveRez.com, a vacation rentals software package. They don't have an affiliate program and are super over-priced. Pricing will be along the lines of $100 sign up, $100/mo recurring. I would give half of that to an affiliate, in addition to providing landing pages and sales copy. Is that alone enough to interest affiliates or am I off base?

Got ya. I had it in my mind that if I "spoon fed" everything, gave people landers, videos, and what not they'd maybe run some adwords campaigns and I wouldn't have to put anything in my own spend.

I ran a campaign with Yanik Silver a few years ago and it did pretty well - just for general website development services.
