I put this question here, because obviously its too newbish to be placed in the main AM forum

Touched Me!

What does it currently do
Front page: introduces the site, shows a list of currently claimed names, links to claiming a name or viewing existing names. Has 3 ads total (two banners, one adsense)

Viewing page: Shows the claimed name in front of "Touched Me!", has two ad spots, the banners on top and bottom.

Claiming page : allows a member to claim a name that'll go in front of .touchedme.com (example Joker Touched Me!), and to link a picture from tinypic (this restriction maybe changed down the road, but I'd prefer nto to have to moderate a direct upload every single time).

I used to have it where the person had to provide an email address, then verify it for the claimed name to go live. But I've since then removed that and had over 1K unique visits over the last two days.

My question is, what features could I add or change to enhance traffic, and with that enhanced traffic, what could be better to monetize a relatively simple satire site.

In terms of monetization, tis a bit of a pickle really because there's so much that could be done, but nothing that IMO seems 100% to fit.

You've already got the banner for the submit at the bottom, and a lot of people fall for that one for some dumb reason (I'm thinking your IQ has gotta be lower than Obama's if you fall for that link after all).
But you're a cluey guy when it comes to code. Is it at all possible to create a script that'll read the tags off the pictures being submitted, and then load an appropriately tagged banner or some such off set of offers you've got in a php file somewhere. As in you'd have all these different key words to look for that would then load particular offers.
i.e. let's say my_dog.touchedme.com loads i44.tinypic.com/2rxbasz.jpg, which is tagged with "puppy"
tinypic.tag = "various dog keywords" ; banner = load pet.dogs.offer

and use it as a landing page for a "blessed cross" or "holy water" affiliate offer.

It's actually quite a novel use of the domain. With a really unique design and ads that stand out less you could do quite well if this goes viral.
 
Add an email input so that when someone makes a page about someone else, that other person gets an email

Maybe add music? Or is that to YTMND
 
The only ads I see are "search sex offenders near you" lol. Probably not the most useful for your audience.
 
OK, this is gonna come off either really cool or really lame, but:

Instead of trackbacks you could have touchbacks. Roll it all together with commenting and rss feeds. Offer widgets to display the most habitual touchers and it would be an incentive for users to spread the backlinks to your site.

Once you have some volume, you could always make sure some of your own x.touchedme.com pages are in the top 10.
