When researching a product/market

Hey all I have a few questions if you all do not mind answering. I tried AM a few years back but didn't do enough research and wasted alot time and money, but have learned alot. I have 1 site that is my baby, but she is not making any money. It is a ecom store. Been a long road in 2011 w/ it. First developer F'd me over so had to have it redone correctly. And new site hasn't been up a month yet. Discovered some good linking byuilding packages and starting to rank.

I also have another site I registered about 3-6 months ago, just a blog want to make adsense site. Would eventually like to get a handful to make some extra cash. And focus on my ecom. But my budget is tight, right now would like to stay around spending only $100 or so amonth, unless I know I can make the money back fairly quick.

When using G's kw tool it said KW gets 1.8 mil globally & 673K locally and $4.80 CPC, so I got the EDM .net. Within a few weeks got 1st page, then order a profile blast and fell to page 4. Few weeks back got back to page 2 and then last week fell to page 5. But last wkend ordered a few links packs and now I am back on 1st page at #4. Question- is G kw tool correct? I have seen people in here talking about 1,000 exact searches and excited, so could be possible to get 673K? I just tried ahref.com and it said around a 100 searches but CPC is over $6. So where can I go to get accurate search info and to know if this is going to be a good domain?

Also people in here selling EMD KW's, is the service worth it?

Thanks in advanced!

Make sure you checked the "Exact" match box over on the left side. The default is "Broad" match, and those numbers aren't very helpful when purchasing EMDs. People make this mistake all the time and register useless domains.

Thanks! A huge difference. lol only 148 searches globally but cpc is over $7, but there is also some other terms to work on but all have high comp. (currently ranked 4th)

Would it be a quicker ROI to get EMD with low comp and only $1 cpc?

I also saw someone on here selling emd's with site and 2 articles for around $30. Worth the money? Would this be a good investment?

What is a good wp theme to use for adsense?

Thanks for the help.

EMDs are nice for a little boost on whatever that keyword is, but they're not a magic bullet.

Quoting this for truth. I always get so caught up in the EMD craze that I often forget that, holy fucking shit, you can rank for a keyword without having an EMD for that KW!

I hate to think about how many easily takeable keywords I have passed on purely because there were no EMDs available...
