Where does "auctioning for keywords" and campaigns come into play?

I understand the basics of promoting an affiliate item, but I've been hearing a bunch of stuff on 'campaigns' and 'auctions for keywords' but where does this connect to your website promoting your affiliate product?

Is it just an ad that leads traffic to your website and hopefully converts?

Is it putting ads on google ads so that people come to your website?

Where can I do this?

What is a landing page?

basically I want to know the workings of a 'campaign', how to start it, and what it does.

Nobody is going to be able to help you since you don't even have a basic understanding.

Read Wicked fire for 25 hours (seriously). Read every section for 5 hours. Then come back and ask questions.
