Where to place link in satellite blogs?

Pardon the lame question, I've set up a few free blogs to add links to my main site, is it better to place the link in the Blog roll area, rather than as a sponsor in the footer? It is best to have a few other outgoing links to obscure the intent.?

Personally, if I had the choice I would place them in posts or pages with relevant anchor text.

Yeah, place them within the posts themselves. Search engines will identify the links as being associated with what the anchored text is, within the content of the post.
