Alright, it's official....I've made nearly every mistake humanely frigging possible in my approach to making money online!
Being at the mercy of my own lack of understanding; concerning the webmastering techniques & tools associated to reaching any level of success at online marketing... I hope my admittal may serve as a platform to steer other "noobs" clear of making such mistakes.
For starters, I like many... 'thought' this shit would be easy, and my entire focus was quick and easy money, money, money, and as a result ignored some HUGE WARNING SIGNS along the way.
Now, in my efforts to repair said damage, I could use some help.
For starters, I submitted my URL's to Google's search engine & registry (Among several others, not realizing how shitty my sites would be viewed!)
However, in going back into my dashboard, I now see Google has acknowledged most of my sites (poorly), but nearly every one of them has this in the details...
User-Agent: Mediapartners Google
Disallow:
User/Agent: *
Disallow/search
(*Plus I'm lost with the whole robot thing!)
Being absolutely clueless as to what all this means, it is also driving me nuts that 10 of the 12 sites I initially verified are showing a "reverify" message, and showing a meta-code that starts with
http://..... and I cannot understand how the hell I'm supposed to reverify these sites URL's now?
Then, nearly every feed I burned @ FeedBurner has seemingly either magically disappeared, is dead, or is not capturing my new posts or 'pinging' any of my new content.
Now, I'm not looking for anyone to hold my hand, as I am constently reading and gaining knowledge of what to do? ~VS~ what not to do?
Currently, being self-taught ~is both a blessing and a curse! ~But, I do value, and learn from my mistakes.
Anyway, I think I f'cked up when I changed my templates, and I'm pretty sure the orignal meta tag(s) that I had placed on those sites to register with Google are now gone, and got tossed out with the old templates.
I've since deleted those URL's in an attempt to start all over, and I am now getting a "reverify" message from google with a different type of code, but cannot figure out how to replace the meta-tag into the 'New' templates I'm using. (or am I suppossed to put that reverify code in my browser or something?):hollering
UH..HELP!
(Naturally, I should've saved the template or meta-tag code for future use, but again...I'm a freaking noob!)
*In addition, I just realized the value of Google Analytics, and have just set-up my site(s) URL's there, and that seems to be working well as they are all slowly becoming active.
I could be wrong, but it seem to be a great free tool for seeing visitor activity, tracking etc.... (with the exception... I've yet learn to create a filter removing my IP from registering page hits) which is on today's to do list!
But, what I'm wondering is this...For any and/or all of my future URL's, should I submit them to Google's Search Engine first?, then add Google Analytics?
OR
Does registering with Google Analytics automatical register the site(s) URL into their search engine at the same time?
I feel like I'm working too hard, as I know once this starts making sense, I'll probably be toting that shameless plug around and be able to laugh about it!
But right now, I have so much seat time my ass is literally killing me!
Lastly, for anyone who thought putting a shitload of links, banners, and text links on their homepage (like my dumb ass did) and thought this was considered content...
KNOW THIS: I've since learned Google's crawlers Hate my pages because it looks like an Affiliates All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet, and it's likely... these pages will never get ranked worth a fuck!!!! (Back to the drawing board I go)
I did however notice there's been 1 or 2 keywords associated to my site, whereby I did get a rank of 2 or 3, but I have a long way to go in understanding how keywords, ranking, SEO, and how all this shit works together in harmony.
*On a personal note:
For any newbie who reads this, do yourself a favor, and concentrate your efforts on understanding the dynamics of webmastering first (as mind-bending as it all may seem) because I am now 110% confident that irregardless of how well written ones campaigns may be, or even ones own understanding of marketing, sales, ppc, or recruiting...
Without the webmastering knowledge and a seamless use of the web tools readily available to benefit you, you're bound for disaster like me, as I've just slammed into that HUGE BRICK WALL!
Meanwhile, if anyone could bring some clarity as to how I fix the Google site submission issue, whereas, I can start 'rectifying' my mistakes...that'd be great, cause as of the moment I'm beating my own ass!:zzwhip:
