Is there any problems using a brand name in a domain name? For instance...samsungtvs.com? Obviously I'm worried about any legal ramifications.

Thanks!

Yes. Unless you want to take the risk and run it for a short time until the C&D letter comes.

depends on who owns the brand but they eventually send a C&D letter to you. If you are looking to make a quick buck, go for it but don't bother developing too much with it as far as linking as you may have to give it up eventually.

I see how Samsungtvs.com would be an infringement, but what if he were selling wall mounts for Samsung tvs and registered samsunglcdwallmounts.com.. Wouldn't that be completely legal? And if it's not, how can another company make wall mounts and advertise that they are for a certain trademarked company/product without infringing on their trademarks?

No, it's still a problem. Simply put, you can have TM terms in your page title and copy but not in the domain name. Some companies will come after you, some won't. If the site becomes successful it's more likely they will so why leave it to chance?

Many companies that make accessories for specific products have licencing agreements. Notwithstanding that, advertising that one product is designed to work with another is generally considered different from becoming known by that fact. ie. if you made the best aftermarket grips in the world for Suzuki motorcycles, you would still have a hard time naming your company Suzuki Grips Inc.
