I'm looking for the easiest method of moving a wordpressmu blog out of the /wordpress/ directory and into a new /wordpress/blog/ subdirectory. Ive played around with the wmpm settings and manually moving via ftp; so far its not working.

Any Ideas?

Well whatever you do I would backup and then keep messing with it. If all else fails you have a backup. If you are not sure how to do that ask your website host to do one right before you try moving it.

If you are just copying the root web directory and copying it to /blog that will not work. You need the mysql file and it needs to be pointed to from the WPMU in /blog.

You might try installing a new WPMU to /blog then pointing it to the mysql that you have.

But backup first. Backup the mysql. Carefully.

The idea of creating a new blog and pointing it to the mysql seems like a good one to try. Thanks.

Ive actually tried a combination of creating a new directory by ftp and using the wpmu admin settings to change the blog's url.

I got the blog itself to appear, but none of the links were working.

I found out how to change the msql files manually. I was just hoping not to have to go poking around in there.
