Would you go for a low traffic, high payout page?

Hey Guys,

I am in the process of doing SEO for a site I have made over the weekend. The two main keywords I am targeting get only about 400 exact match searches per month combined.

My goal is to open a drop ship company, the current #1 ranked company is selling a chinese product which costs about $300 for $1200. I can get a nicer model for $400, sell it for $999 shipped and still make a killing on each conversion. This is a very niche product, its a tool used by certain small industries.

If these numbers are correct, I am pretty confident that I should be able to sell at least 1 of these things per month and that would be a pretty nice bit of virtually passive income. However, before I invest too much into this is there anything I should watch out for? Are the google keyword tools numbers even reliable?

At the moment I am promoting the site as an informative, "how to" guide on using and buying the machines. There is no sales page. Once I start to get some traffic I will convert the page to a dropship order page.

Please let me know your thoughts.

That's exactly what to watch out for. Google's Adwords tool is not
made for us, it's made for Adwords publishers. The numbers reflect
how many times your ad will show for the keyword. Google sometimes
uses synonyms and related words in their calculation. Remember,
they are trying to sell advertising space.

All Google tools exist to benefit Google, not us.

Whether its low converting with high payout or the other way around. As long as it meets the metrics you need and it works for you then you are good. Remember to optimize for higher rankings...Hope it works out!
