Would you use a mispelling in Adwords Adcopy? (Plummer = 400k searches /month)

The correct spelling is "Plumber" not "Plummer." However, since it is misspelled so often (400k/monthly) I am adding it to my ad group.

Here is my question:

When I search "plummer" all the adwords ad copys use "plumber" in their copy meaning no bold option and a lower quality score most likely.

I would like to include "plummer" in the ad copy to get the bold option & increase my QS, but does this look tacky to you? Bad reflection?

To me, yes, yes it looks tacky.

But... to the person who searched for "plummer", "plummer" is exactly what they're searching for.

As a side-note, in order to have a good quality score would you need to have the ad direct to a site that also used "plummer"? I'd be fine with the typo in the adwords copy, but I'd be hesitant to start using it on my site. (I'm not very knowledgable about the QS techniques, so you may safely ignore this part if you know otherwise)

try to find a clever way to put both spellings in your ad so it's legit/funny

Plummer is spelled Plumber

QS-wise you should be ok, put it in its' own ad group obviously with just the 3 match types of plummer

The best answer is test test test and find out what gives you the best conversions.

Testing is definitely the way to find out. But in theory when G spiders your site they'll look for synonyms that match the word for which you're bidding in addition to the exact phrase itself. So if google looks at "plummer" and knows that this word is synonymous with "plumber" or "toilet professional" and you have these words sprinkled throughout your content then your QS in theory should be good.

Though this example is based on the presumption that Google has the mispelled "plummer" in it's bank and has attributed some meaning or synonymy to it. If it looks at this word and doesn't know what the hell it means then this case won't apply.

If i were doing what you were doing i would incorporate the mispelled word and other synonyms related to that word in the content to gain a good relevancy in google's eyes. If you're worried about aesthetics try putting the misspelling in the title tag at least or in places where it's less conspicuous like the footer.
