WPMU (404 Errors) in archives

For some reason I am getting 404 errors when trying to view archives, the main archive pages work though if I click on previous posts I get the error.

So basically

http://xxxxxxxxxxxxx.net/blog/learn-about-xxxx/

is visible, though...

http://xxxxxxxxxxxxx.net/blog/learn-about-xxxx/page/2/

throws up a 404 error,

Ive updated my permalink structure and tried starting with a fresh .htaccess file, though nothing is working. It was working fine the other day, so Ive even tried disabling any and all plugins Ive installed since then.

Anyone have any other ideas as to what could be causing the problem?
