I've been testing a few offers the last couple days - Some ppl and then some email submits. Doing ppc on YSM - well, half comes from search, the other half comes from their search "partners" (content is off).

I get traffic and conversions for a few hours, and then I get traffic but no conversions ... wtf? Anybody else experience this?

This is very common. Gather a lot of data from your campaigns about when conversions are occuring and time lapse if possible. Track when the click occured and when the conversion occured.

If you find that most of the conversions are instant or within a short time period. You can start optimizing your campaign by having it only display ads during your "converting hours".

When people are at work or school they are more likely browsing than shopping and this is likely what you are experiencing.

Thanks KV,

The urge to shut down these campaigns is strong, but I guess it's all about the data gathering.

That's the key to succeeding in AM. You have to be willing to lose money at first to see what works and what doesn't. It will be worth losing a couple hundred dollars to find out that your campaign profits in the morning and bombs out in the afternoon. Track all of that, and eventually you'll find a couple of trends in your data that can turn a losing campaign into a winning one.

One of the things I'm finding (which is true in most businesses) is that "fast and dirty" works best - at least from a testing standpoint.

I've spent hours upon hours putting a great site together geared towards 1 or 2 offers just to get nothing. And then I slap together some pages and put more time into KW research + adgroup building to see much better results

I started and stopped advertising on Yahoo cuz of my ads showing up on their "partner websites". What bullcrap. I just want my ads to appear on search.yahoo.com. I called up their customer service and the rep was like do you know what content network is and I'm like WTF?! I just said I want my ads to appear on search.yahoo.com. Do you get that? And she goes like, well, you can't turn it off. So FU Yahoo. I ain't advertising on your "partner websites" although the traffic you send on search.yahoo.com is awesome, I can't justify spending 80% of my money on your partner websites.
