wrong topic. Next time put this in http://www.wickedfire.com/hosting-domains/
They're pretty terrible TBH. They were formerly infolink, a failed theplanet reseller. They have a reputation of not delivering your server for over a week after you buy it, yet they start charging you from the moment you put the order in. Then often times the specs you ordered aren't what you get and their support is extremely bad and usually non-responsive for days to weeks after you put a ticket in. They're cheap but I wouldn't host anything valuable on it. |

I have them for the low end dedicated, ~$30/mo. Used for 2-3 years, had problems a few times, hardware failed once, took them a couple days to recover shit. Overall I don't complain, had some issues, had to fix them myself as I got no support and run a server however I make it run. If you need a reboot, it's not instant, had to wait for a few hours after opening a ticket. Support is a pain in the ass to get a hold of (or was, called the other day to update billing info and went right through).

hard to cancel. but cheap. they cut me off, albeit briefly, for some interesting traffic coming from an IP on my dedicated. but at 150 a month for a monster server can't beat it. but i'm still going to cancel.

Server pronto is ran by a bunch of fraudsters, so unless you like being extorted and charged for services you never ordered and then not being able to cancel go for it. I had to get my card canceled in the end.

I have a "baby plan" with hostgator (because that's what the guide I read told me to get) and it seems pretty nice to me. I've never had any problems with downtime or anything, and the cpanel interface is simple. Installing Wordpress/etc is super easy... I dunno, I've never used anything besides hostgator so I don't know how it compares, but it seems nice to me, at least for my meager needs.

SP was a bit of a nightmare for me, and the main reason that I moved to WiredTree. I love WT and I highly recommend them - however, their shit is "managed" (basically meaning very fast customer service) so it's not cheap.

Pugmarks - Web Hosting, Remote Infrastructure Management, Website Design, Call Center and Search Engine Optimization has some awesome support. I have a dual quad core xeon server for $200/month. Prices are ok, but I'm really happy with their support staff. They are out of India, but every time I have an issue, I can call them and get someone on the phone and they have the issue being worked on within 15 minutes. I haven't had any serious issues for them to deal with, but if on the rare occasion the server goes down, they are on top of it fast. Serverpronto may be cheaper, but the support is worth every penny

SEVER PRONTO SUCKS SWEATY SASQUATCH NUTS. ALSO I HEARD THEY SELL LITTLE GIRLS ON THE BLACK MARKET TO PAY THEIR BANDWIDTH BILLS.
Also yes. Weeks to setup, weeks to get a response for a ticket (I had a sever down for 10 days straight without a response). Worst goddamn server company on the face of the planet. |
