i've got an ad that has 0.2% CTR but the suggested CPC is still quite high at 0.6-0.8 how do i lower it? does my CTR need to be higher?
The higher your CTR, the less you will pay.
The suggested is 0.6-0.8, but are you actually paying that much?
1) How competitive is your demo.
2) What's your campaign budget.
3) What's your current bid at.
Using any specific interest targets?
Did you bid inside the suggested bids when first submitting the ad?
Suggested bid in Facebook is not even a good guideline to what you should be bidding. I start at about 1/2 of the bottom range of the suggested bid off the bat and then if I don't get traffic (which is very rare) I raise it slowly. Invariably when I get traffic and an ok CTR at that bid price the actual price I will pay will be even lower and I can usually even lower my bids lower than that (depending on what kind of CPC I am actually paying).
With a CTR of 0.2% and a suggested bid of 0.6-0.8 I wouldn't be bidding any more than about 0.35 and probably actually be paying low to mid twenties (or even lower).
Without knowing your exact campaign (demo's etc.) its impossible to be sure what you should be paying, but I would highly recommend you not bidding anywhere close to the top of the suggested bid range unless you are seeing little to no traffic at all. Let me put it this way, I have NEVER had to bid at the top of the suggested bid range to get traffic.
Oh and don't forget that if you have a 0.2% CTR and can sustain it over time (over impressions) then your bid will also start to drop.

Omg, if only I'd known that first bit when I first started with FB ads... Was bidding way above the top suggested bid; burnt out my £50 voucher soo quickly...
Ouch man! But that's what this biz is all about, testing and learning. Remember there is no failure, only more data purchased!
Had a 70k demo campaign running for 2 weeks. Made decent money. Now I can't even make shit work with an avg. CPC of 1 haha
Holy shit I never get numbers that look like that. Very impressive man! How is it not working? Not converting? Have you tried splitting in a different offer or same offer on another network?

It's easier than you think. CVR is < 5%. Payout is less than a Zip Submit, and it's the only offer in this niche for this country. I don't think it's worth the hassle.
